The conclusion of the 28th Biennale of Design (BIO) provides an opportunity to reflect on the evolution of design over the last decade. We invite you to join us at the Design Perspectives event, which will take place on 27 March from 14.30 at the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO).

The event will highlight past achievements, current challenges and the future of the discipline of design. Through three thematic strands we will explore:

• New Priorities – What are the key priorities for the discipline today? How can design evolve and what impact can it have on society?
• New areas – What are the boundaries of design and where does it meet other disciplines? How is the role of designers changing?
• New arenas – How is design communicating and where will it be most active in the future?

International and local speakers will shed light on the wider context of design and its future through discussions and lectures. Ajdin Bašić, Jan Boelen, Aric Chen, Tina Gregorič, Pia Groleger, Thomas Geisler, Rok Kuhar, Beatrice Leanza, Justin McGuirk, Barbara Predan, Luka Stepan and Jane Withers will join us.

At 19:00, the event will conclude with the premiere of As Time Swallows Time (2025), directed by the El Último Grito artistic collective. This will be followed by a discussion with the artists and Alexandra Midal, curator of BIO28.

The event is organised by the Museum of Architecture and Design in collaboration with the Centre for Creativity. The production of the film is supported by the British Council Slovenia.
