The symposium The World Inside: Designing Modern Interiors, 1930–Today, organised in cooperation with the Museum for Architecture and Design and designed as a central part of the programs of the exhibition The World Within: Designing Modern Interiors, 1930-present, will take place in MAO. Tuesday, 9 November at 8:30 p.m.
The exhibition, which for the first time on a large scale deals with the interior as a subject of systematic research and evaluation, is on view at the Museum for Architecture and Design until 28 November 2021.
The symposium will discuss the future of living through the prism of interior design in four sets. We will open questions about the porosity of the interior by blurring the boundaries between private and public, the impact of information technology on the interior, the home as the basic living cell of every person, the conditions necessary for comfort and well-being and ethical and ecological responsibility in interior design as well as about its positioning in the architectural design profession.
The discursive segment will bring together experts working in various fields: architects, designers, lighting experts, psychologists and researchers, with whom we will establish the interior as space that can respond quickly to the socio-cultural context in which it is created and one which has an important role in its creation.
