At the December talk in the Skillshare series, we are hosting Peter Movrin, one of the most renowned Slovenian fashion designers with an exceptional international career. Movrin has established himself as a distinctive voice in contemporary fashion, known for his bold, oversized constructions, artisanal approach, and deep passion for fashion. His talent was recognised early on by trend forecaster Li Edelkoort, and his collection FranzMadonna attracted strong international attention. He has received numerous awards, and his work has been worn by stars such as Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Zaha Hadid, Pippa Middleton, Björk, and many others. Throughout his extensive career, he has collaborated with the team of the Hunger Games film franchise, as well as with Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Aesop, Cartier, the luxury groups Richemont and Mayhoola, Alber Elbaz (AZ Factory), Bottega Veneta, and numerous other names.

Movrin will speak about the challenges of the global fashion world, the intersection of creativity and business, and building a career guided by a strong personal vision. The conversation will be moderated by columnist and publicist Urša Jerkič. As part of the programme, you can also attend individual consultations with the guest in the morning.

Before and after the talk, a pop-up featuring fashion designers and brands will be on view, including: Anselma, David Bacali, Ksenija Baraga, Jona Bednjanec, Monika Colja, Anja Medle, Ponorelii, Volja, Petja Zorec, and others. The evening will continue with a pre-holiday gathering, culinary treats, music by DJ Bakt, and a tour of the MAO exhibition Is Nature Modern?

At the event, we will also present the Fashion Incubator – a four-month educational and mentoring programme that opens the door to the international fashion world and, together with other activities, supports the development of the fashion sector in Slovenia.
