Japanese Anagama in Ljubljana.
Ines Kovačič is a quiet legend in the world of ceramics in Slovenia and the larger region. This series of vases from Spanish clay, which becomes more robust with the addition of minerals is quite the contrast to the porcelain that Ines commonly works with. Clays with larger, coarser grains yet still pure enable ceramicists to create wonderful items – if they know how to handle them. Using the anagama technique there’s no need for glazing, but the clay’s features come robustly to the surface.
