Biofabrique Vienna Challenge: Applied Colours

Biofabrique Vienna Challenge: Applied Colours

The purpose of the competition is to create an installation using Biofabrique Vienna dyes which will be exhibited at Vienna Design Week.

Biofabrique Vienna is exploring how biowaste and invasive plants from Vienna and its surroundings could be used to produce natural dyes. The aim of the competition is to explore different ways these dyes can be used in practice.

Challenge is open to individuals or interdisciplinary teams, creative practitioners from all fields with expertise in design, dyeing processes, colors and pigments, science, and related disciplines.

In consultation with the Biofabrique Vienna team, a significant part of the hall may be used. A reference to the installation in the Papageienhalle will also be exhibited during Vienna Design Week as part of the “Urban Food & Design” format. A small space will be available for this purpose, which must be designed by a selected individual or team.
