MADE IN platforms: Crafts and Design Narratives #4

A series of lectures and debates with the international group Dialogue of Design and Crafts, created and organized by the Museum for Architecture and Design and the Centre for Creativity, will take place on September 10, 2020 in Ljubljana as the fourth event in a series of public seminars.

MADE IN platforms: Crafts and Design Narratives.

MADE IN is a platform that combines research, design and heritage, and encourages collaboration and knowledge exchange between traditional artisans and contemporary designers. Through research and the archiving of local crafts, workshops and residencies, and the promotion of ideas presented through a traveling exhibition, the platform is connecting artisans, designers, researchers, curators and theorists by addressing current issues related to heritage and production today.

The MADE IN project presents the relationship between crafts and design in the form of an exhibition and accompanying catalogue. The Dialog # 4 lecture series will bring together various domestic and foreign designers and craftsmen and other professionals in a series of discussions on different models of cooperation, exchange of skills and knowledge and new production systems. Special attention will be given to the problem of raw and locally sourced materials and their impact on craft and design cycles in the context of the current environmental crisis.
