With its innovative layered backrest design it allows the user to store books, magazines, tablets, phones and remote controls. In the design and construction of the backrest layers it was very important to ensure that they return to their original shape after use, without signs of object imprints. We managed to achieve this by combining technologically advanced materials. Inspired by the interplay between the ancient and the contemporary the designer referenced the Roman amphitheatre with its stepped architecture.
