HeritageHack 2022

3 - 5 June 2022

Online

HeritageHack, which will be held for the third time this year, is approaching again. This time, we are going to Carinthia, where we focus on iron and mining heritage. So how do you present heritage in a sustainable and active way that will be interesting to young people as well? The Hackathon HeritageHack will once again take place VIRTUALLY – from 3 to 5 June 2022, in collaboration with the Centre for Creativity, at the Museum of Architecture and Design.

The cultural heritage of Koroška (Carinthia) will be at the forefront of the event – we will delve into finding solutions for the former heritage of the lead and zinc mine in Mežica and the ironworks in Ravne. At this year’s HeritageHack, we are looking for solutions that will present the cultural heritage in an attractive way and place it alongside the best existing solutions in the field of sustainable and active tourism. An attractive role will also be played by the presentation of complex steel processes and new products that draw inspiration from this rich heritage.

Although the HeritageHack itself will take place from 3 to 5 June 2022, preparations for the event will take place earlier. The selected participants will be given the topics of the challenges on Monday, May 30, and they will have a few days to prepare for them. The participants will have a varied and active weekend, which they will spend with other creatives!

The winning team will win a prize of € 1,000. The second- and third-placed teams will also receive practical prizes with a local touch of Carinthia.

Apply alone or with an already selected team by May 25, 2022.

The project is part of the partner network of the Centre for Creativity. The project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Fund for Regional Development and the Republic of Slovenia.
