Engage4BIO: International Design Award

Engage4BIO set up the International Design Award to search innovative bio-based solutions that highlight the potential of biodesign in creating sustainable futures.

Do you ever wonder how creativity can be applied to sustainability? Are you an innovator, designer, or a visionary? Then we have a challenge for you! Engage4BIO is looking for inspired creatives that want to be a part of the transition to a bioeconomy.

 

Through the contest, they seek to recognize and reward the most innovative and impactful designs that address environmental challenges and drive the transition to bioeconomy.

 

How does it work?
You can choose to explore and work on five themes:

  • Timber, Construction & Interior
  • Sustainable Packaging
  • Agriculture and Food Industry
  • Circular and Bio-Based Textiles
  • Blue Economy

 

Three applications will be chosen from each theme, leading to the final choice of one overall winner and one overall runner-up. At the end of the judging period, 15 entries will be exhibited at the final event in Budapest on the 26th of March 2025. This event will give candidates the opportunity to showcase their work, network with industry leaders, and celebrate their achievements in the heart of Europe.

 

Prizes:

  • Overall winner: 2.000 EUR
  • Runner-up: 1.000 EUR
  • Shortlisted entries: 150 EUR

 

The “This is Bioeconomy!” International Design Award is open to students, early-career professionals, and enthusiasts in design, architecture, engineering, and other related fields from 18 to 35 years olds. You can join as a group and you can also apply with your works created within the last five years.

 

Deadline: January 4, 2025

After that, applications will be reviewed and the winner will be announced by the 4th of February 2025.

If your entry is selected, the “This is Bioeconomy” Award Ceremony will be in Budapest in March 2025.
