The inspiring theme is Reverberation. It is intentionally broad and non-binding: each designer is free to interpret the mirror as a pure aesthetic object, as a metaphor, or both. The glass may serve as a frame, structure, surface, detail, or dominant element; it may interact with other materials or stand as the sole protagonist. No stylistic, formal, or conceptual constraints are imposed. Projects that demonstrate an innovative interpretation of decorations and effects applicable to glass and/or mirrors will be highly appreciated. Preference will be given to works that develop new ideas conceived with flat glass (engraving, decoration, fusing), rather than works where hot-blown glass (furnace) is the primary component.

Vetralia welcomes interested creatives to visit the atelier prior to or during the development of their proposal. A visit allows designers to closely explore the decorative possibilities, techniques, and finishes available, providing concrete inspiration for interpreting the piece and ensuring the proposal aligns with actual production capabilities. Vetralia will provide participants with the experience of its master craftsmen — encompassing glass engraving, grinding, decoration, and chromatic and material processing.

The selected work may be produced in one of two ways:

• Full production by Vetralia, which will handle the entire manufacturing process based on the approved design;
• Partial production by the artist, with Vetralia providing support for specific components (glass or otherwise) included in the work

The winning project will be developed Between January and April and produced in collaboration with Vetralia, to be presented at Milan Design Week 2027.
