NON TOX DAY 2026 – Invisible Impacts of Materials will bring together architecture, health, science, materials, industry and public policy, opening up the question of how health can become one of the standard criteria in the design, construction and renovation of our spaces. Flooring, paints, coatings, adhesives, furniture and insulation are not merely aesthetic or technical choices. Some materials can contain or release substances whose presence can be reduced, or avoided altogether, through more considered choices. A healthier alternative may already be available today and come at a comparable cost. What we need most is the knowledge to recognise it, ask for it and choose it. NON TOX DAY wants to bring health to the decision-making table.

The conference will be held in person and online on Tuesday, 3 October 2026 at 16:00 at the Center Forum Carinthia, Pod Gradom 4, Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia.

The programme will combine national and international expert talks, moderated discussions, real-life examples, a curated presentation of selected materials, a visit to the production of products made from natural fibres, and an artistic intervention.

The event will be held in English, participation is free of charge, and a live online stream will be available. Registration deadline is 30 September 2026.

Members of the Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning of Slovenia (ZAPS) will receive 2 continuing professional development credit points in Category C for attending the event.

The event is organised by Non Tox Hub Institute and coorganised by Non Tox Uni Kum and co-financed through the 2026 public call for projects promoting and raising awareness in the fields of spatial planning and construction, Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning. The event is conceived in the spirit of the New European Bauhaus principles.
