LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize 2027
Inspired by LOEWE’s own beginnings as an artisanal workshop, the prize recognizes excellence, artistic merit, and innovation in craft, in all its forms. The prize will be awarded in spring 2027, accompanied by an exhibition of shortlisted works.
All participants must be professional artisans 18 years or older. Entries may be made by an individual or collective (as a ‘group submission’). All nationalities are welcome.
Main prize is 50 000 EUR. prize for special mentions is 5 000 EUR.
The work must:
- demonstrates artistic intent in addition to technical proficiency
- be an original piece, handmade or partly handmade
- be created in the last five years
- be one-of-a-kind and has not won any prizes previously
- be innovative, in the sense that it updates tradition
- fall within an area of the applied arts, such as ceramics, bookbinding, enamelwork, jewellery, lacquer, metal, furniture, leather, textiles, glass, paper, wood, etc.
