Motovila’s mission is to build the capacities of the cultural and creative sector to facilitate its activity in the international arena. Promoting international collaboration is important not only for reasons of economy (new markets or access to new audiences and resources), but even more so in view of current political situation in Europe (the rise of nationalism, migrations and border closures); as such it complements the current development of EU policies that promote international collaboration and mobility (the New European Agenda for Culture and communication on international cultural relations). Motovila contributes to these efforts by promoting collaboration that transcends national borders (transnationality) and individual sectors (interdisciplinarity) to create synergies and facilitate exchange between different cultures and actors active in different cultural sectors or even beyond the cultural and creative sector (cross-over).
