The exhibition PRIMOZJEZASTUDIO: OBJECTS – Typology, system, variation, which presents a selection of works by architect and designer Primož Jeza, will be on display in the Great Reception Hall of Cankarjev dom from 23 October to 5 November 2026. The opening will be on Friday, 23 October, at 6 pm, when the monograph of the same name will also be presented.

Some objects merely occupy space, others co-create it. Jeza’s objects are among the latter. Their distinct authorial language combines modernist purity, technological inventiveness and a unique irony. Through different generations of objects, the exhibition reveals a design approach that goes beyond established typologies, the purely functional definition of objects and short-lived aesthetic trends.

At the heart of the installation is the Nico Less chair family, which is linked to the heritage of Slovenian industrial design and represents a contemporary reinterpretation of modernist principles of construction, functionality and mass production. The shell made of thermoformed felt allows for various combinations of bases and methods of use and develops into an open furniture system. VE SOFA, FRANKENSTEIN’S BRIDE, NICO LESS BACKPACK and the experimental ONEANDHALFMILLIONCHAIR will also be presented.

The exhibition is not conceived as a chronological retrospective, but as a dialogue between objects, their typological characteristics and implementation variations. The focus is on the design process, in which the object is a starting point for further research and development.

Primož Jeza is a recipient of the Made in Slovenia Mark of Excellence, and the exhibition will also feature the eponymous brand, which is implemented by the Center for Creativity at the Museum of Architecture and Design. The brand recognizes and promotes top achievements in contemporary Slovenian design and emphasizes design quality, innovation, and a sustainable approach.
