For the next few weeks, we will reveal to you which products have received the Made in Slovenia mark of excellence. The expert jury reviewed as many as 76 entries and awarded a badge of excellence to 23 products that were included in the collection, which will be presented in April at Design Week in Milan.

The “Made in Slovenia” mark of excellence is awarded to products that represent good practices of Slovenian artists and companies. In this way, we create a collection that is recognized as good Slovenian design, promotes sustainable principles and contributes to cooperation between the creative and economic sectors.

In this call, we particularly addressed products and services that foresee systemic change, offer a critique of existing market and economic systems, break established, often harmful social habits, bring new uses and have the potential to become a serial product or service that abandons established ways of working. We were looking for small series products (and services) that are designed and manufactured in Slovenia and are thoughtful, functional and sustainable.

The jury met twice. At the first meeting, they discussed 59 products that applied to the open call and selected 16 products from among them. At the second meeting, the jury discussed another 17 products proposed for inclusion by the jury members themselves. Out of these seven other products, were awarded the mark of excellence.
