STARTS4WaterII Residencies – Open Call for Artists
S+T+ARTS announces a call for artists for the second edition of the residency program, which this year is dedicated to the sustainable use of water and innovations at the intersection of science, technology and art.
With nine-month residencies, S+T+ARTS4WATERII will strengthen joint artistic research, creation and innovation in various port cities and their related ecosystems and industries in eight countries: Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Ireland, Austria, Croatia and Slovenia. It will support selected artists with a program that includes a nine-month residency starting in September 2024 and a number of exhibitions and events during and after the residency until November 2025.
What does the program offer?
- Up to EUR 40,000 of the budget for artist residencies to cover the artist’s fee, organization and participation in art exhibitions/events and other relevant costs for the successful implementation of the project;
- Access to resources/facilities provided by the residency host institution;
- Assistance from a local expert group; Access to pan-European S+T+ARTS network;
- Participation in S+T+ARTS4WATERII community events;
- Potential participation in exhibitions showing the results of residencies at the September 2025 Ars Electronica Festival, the Love Tomorrow Conference, the UN Oceans Conference and/or other festivals of choice;
- Recognition through communication channels.
Individual artists or groups of artists can apply. The application deadline is June 26, 2024.
