Fashion incubator 2026: fashion designer presentation 12/15

Zala Hrastar is a master’s degree academic textile and clothing designer who works at the intersection of fashion, art and sustainable design. She is the founder of the MORJA brand, where through upcycling and the use of vintage materials she develops a poetic, colorful and personal design expression that goes beyond the concept of fast fashion and emphasizes the narrative of clothing. Her work is characterized by a distinct design identity, research into circular practices, upcycling materials and developing an authorial approach within contemporary sustainable fashion.

She upgraded her knowledge on a study exchange at Design School Kolding in Denmark and at the sustainable brand Rave Review in Stockholm, where she deepened her understanding of circular design and modern production approaches.

She regularly presents her collections and projects at Ljubljana Fashion Week, Budapest, Stockholm, and international platforms such as Mittelmoda and From Waste to Beauty as part of GO!2025. Her work has been exhibited in Ljubljana, Kranj, Paris, Warsaw, Berlin, and Copenhagen, confirming her active international presence.

She has received several awards for her work, including the Prešeren Faculty Award, the ED.VITA Award for Sustainable Operations in Higher Education, and the Telescope Award from the Slovenian Designers’ Association.
