Jona Bednjanec is a textile and fashion designer who focuses on knitting as her main design medium. She develops and designs knitwear herself on knitting machines or by hand in her studio in Ljubljana.

She also regularly collaborates with local knitwear manufacturers, thus maintaining the quality of the workmanship and the origin of the product, which is entirely made locally. She draws inspiration from knitting technology, patterns, and traditional hand techniques such as hand knitting and crocheting.

Her knitwear brand has been present in stores specializing in independent young designers across Europe and America, she presents her (award-winning) knitwear collections at Ljubljana Fashion Week, and regularly collaborates with Slovenian designers and artists.

Her work is also represented by special art projects such as costume design for the short animated film Borbike by Nika Jurman and the group exhibition Fin de Siecle at Layer House, Kranj, as well as active participation in various pop-up events (Pop-UpStart in collaboration with the Center for Creativity in Maribor, 2019; pop-up sales exhibition in collaboration with 5WAY in Milan, 2020; Res-res pop-up in Copenhagen, 2022; the annual December Jelka in Ljubljana).
