The official opening of the exhibition “The Future of Living” took place on Thursday, 14 October 2021, at the Skleňák Gallery in Prague 6. The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Prague prepared the exhibition on the Czech side in cooperation with the Municipality of Prague 6 and representatives of the gallery.

At the opening, which was attended by the diplomatic corps, representatives of the Slovenian community in the Czech Republic and representatives of cultural, architectural and design institutions, participants were addressed by Eva Smutná, representative of Prague 6, HR, Strniša and Jíři Růžička, First Vice President of the Czech Senate . Senator Růžička also covers the cultural area of ​​the Prague area 6.

The exhibition The Future of Being / Made in Slovenia was on view at the Depoo Gallery in Sofia from 4 to 17 October. The opening of the exhibition took place on 5 October. The opening of the event was attended by, among others, several local designers or design studios, representatives of cultural institutes, and representatives of embassies.

As part of Paris Design Week, the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Paris set up an exhibition entitled The Future of Living at the famous Gallery Joseph Paris. Slovenian design garnered a lot of interest, from both the professional and general public.

Paris Design Week, which will take place at several locations in Paris, has been selected to present the new design. On this occasion, new trends are set and different generations of designers are connected, from young to internationally renowned. This year’s theme was “desirable development”, which is also linked to the way out of the difficult crisis period associated with the coronavirus. For Design Week, Paris is completely disguised in the yellow and black colors of the event, with 350 entities participating, from large museums and department stores to art schools, galleries and boutiques, which are visited by hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.

In a special innovative set of Paris Design Week Factory, a smaller version of the exhibition of 35 innovative and sustainable Slovenian products from a total of 90 products that received the “Made in Slovenia” badge of excellence was on display. The Slovenian exhibition was well attended, and Slovenian innovative products received great attention, positive responses and excellent evaluations from both the professional and general public. At the same time, Spirit Slovenija organized a very resounding group presentation of six Slovenian companies at the world’s leading fair for interior design and design, Maison & Objet.

n this occasion, the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Paris also organized a reception, which was attended by over 300 people.

The field of design and interior design is undoubtedly an area where some designers and Slovenian companies have already established themselves well on the French market, but at the same time there is still a lot of open potential.

The Future of Living project was created in cooperation between the Center for Creativity / MAO, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture and the Embassies of the Republic of Slovenia abroad. On Thursday, July 15, at the Qattan Cultural Center in Ramallah, we officially opened the exhibition The Future of Living, dedicated to the presentation of Slovenian designers under the brand “Made in Slovenia” in honor of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Slovenian statehood. The exhibition was opened by the Head of the Office of the Republic of Slovenia in Palestine Vojko Kuzma and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Palestinian Government and Minister of Education dr. Marwan Awartani.

The exhibition The Future of Staying at Shenkar College in Tel Aviv was visited by students and professors of the college, Deputy Mayor Ramat Gan and his colleagues, many invited representatives of Israeli institutions, associations and companies in the field of design and creative industries.

On the last day of the exhibition, June 24, we hosted a reception on the occasion of the Statehood Day of the Republic of Slovenia to mark the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Slovenia and the upcoming start of the EU Council Presidency 2021. The reception was attended by more than 150 guests.

The hosting of the exhibition also led to the establishment of a new cooperation between Shenkar College and Slovenia.

Visiting the exhibition at the Design Week in Jerusalem

Jerusalem Design Week was held at Hansen House – a center for design, media and technology. It is the most important and largest international exhibition in the field of design in Israel. 160 designers took part in this year’s Design Week in Jerusalem, which was held under the title Escaped Circus and on the theme of escapism. This year’s exhibition was visited by more than 40,000 visitors.
